Enter the Cultuurtuin Scavengerhunt

15 March 2021

At World Forest Day (March 21, 2021), we stop to better appreciate all the greenery that we own as a country. This year's theme is 'Forest restoration': restoring the quality of our forests. This also applies to our urban forests and in particular the Cultuurtuin, after all the fuss about land allocation in 2020. The Cultuurtuin is a small representation of the green area in Suriname, but in the heart of the city! It is therefor important to cherish and preserve this special piece of greenery.

In that context, Tropenbos Suriname and its twinning partner the ITC, in collaboration with Tigri Endurance Sport Club, members of the United Tour Guides Suriname and the National Parks Foundation, will organize a sporting quest in the Cultuurtuin on Sunday 28 March 2021. Physical exercise is important for health, why not be in the open air with the nature around you?

You can participate as a group (eg. with friends or family) by registering via the registration form. We strictly adhere to the covid-19 measures and have also coordinated this activity accordingly.

  • You can register as a group of 2 to a maximum of 5 people until Thursday, March 25, 2021. Participation is free.
  • Children can also participate. Small children accompanied by adults.
